Grant to Sudan Schools is a "God-send"
While school buildings in the Sudans are closed due to the global coronavirus pandemic, education continues in part thanks to a grant from the Diocese's Sudan Link Education Committee.

Dr Margaret Griffin from the Committee has been in touch with the Juba Diocesan Model Secondary Secondary School (JDMSS) and she was delighted to hear that while the school is currently closed due to the necessary pandemic restrictions, students have been coming to the Reception at the school gate to collect study papers and then return them once having completed their work at home.
The 28 teachers at the school are all involved in setting and marking their work, which has continued to develop students' academic learning at this challenging time.
Richard Dean from the Sudan Link Education Committee said:
"It seems the new school photocopier has enabled them to copy and distribute the papers to the students, and it is humbling to hear an expression of gratitude for Sudan Link Education Committee support in this, having felt called to support the provision earlier in the year:
"'The grant of £1,700 from the Sudan Link Education Committee has been a God-send.'
"We look forward to hearing more of how this resource supports students in their learning, bearing fruit in the end-of-year exams and in the future.
"We continue in our prayers for the pupils, staff and families at JDMSS, and for schools and education throughout South Sudan."
