Flash Bang What A Picture!
Clergy and lay ministers were given a chance to swap the pulpit for the camera, as a group embarked on a day of rural photography training to record their parishes through the seasons.

The day, part of 'Through the Seasons with a Rural Lens', was led by Revd Canon Richard Hancock, the RFO (Rural Field Officer) for Dorset, who was a professional photographer prior to ordination.

He aimed to provide a day where those with cameras could spend time honing their skills and sharing tips on composition and technique.
It was also hoped the day, and those that follow in June and September, would allow those there to capture some of the memorable views from the Dorset countyside, providing images that could be used to promote Rural Hope.
Richard says:
"On sunny Saturday morning, ten budding photographers of mixed ability met at Tyneham Ghost Village for the first CMD photography day.
"After several hours at Tyneham the group headed to Lulworth Cove for a pub lunch and then to photograph the Cove in the perfect afternoon light, ending with tea at 4pm.
"Everyone enjoyed the day and said they felt it had improved their photography and had been like a mini retreat."
'Through the Seasons with a Rural Lens' is part of the well being program encouraging both clergy, lay minsters and their spouses to develop interests outside the parish.
The Course continues on June 20th when photopgraphers will be capturing the views around Weymouth and Portland Bill and then on September 10th at Corfe Castle and the Swanage Railway.
