Feeding the hungry
Times are hard for many, but the Church is stepping up.
Our Social Justice Manager Colin Brady says:
"The team at Faithworks Wessex who run our foodbanks in Blandford, Poole, and Wimborne - as well as projects supporting single parent families, people struggling with financial issues, people living on the streets, and people dealing with addiction - has kept on working through lockdown, making appropriate changes, and even increasing some of their services."
Great work, team Faithworks Wessex!
Did you know that foodbanks have their roots here in this Diocese?
In 2000, Trussell Trust founder Paddy Henderson started the Salisbury Foodbank in his garden shed and garage, providing 3 days’ of emergency food to local people in crisis.
The Trussell Trust now supports over 1,200 foodbank centres across the UK.
