"Excellent and truly inspirational"

by Michael Ford last modified 19 Mar, 2021 07:12 PM

Our Salisbury Diocesan Guild of Ringers has been recognised at national level recently.

Guild Master Robert Wellen tells us:

"On the afternoon of 13th March 2021, after our second workshop in the morning, I had the privilege to make a presentation to fellow Covid Recovery Champions from Guilds and Associations across the country at a meeting convened by the ART/ CCCBR Survival and Recovery Group.

"The audience included Simon Linford, the President of the Central Council. I was asked to talk on what we as a Guild have done over the last year, what we are doing now, and what we are planning to do."

(A PDF version of Robert's PowerPoint presentation is here.)

"I am really grateful to Vicki Rowse, my fellow Guild Champion, and all other colleagues from across the Guild who answered my request for information for this talk and helped in its preparation. Also to members of the Guild Executive who saw a run through earlier in the week.

"Obviously, as the second workshop was that morning, there was a tight turnaround in reporting its results in the presentation – the ink was still wet, as they say! Grateful thanks to the group facilitators, Pat Davidson, David Barrance, Kathryn Tyson and Sue Bateman, as well as Vicki, for their prompt checking of my words.

"The talk seemed to go down well, and prompted some questions, ‘stealing of ideas’, which it’s all about."

Annie Hall, the Group convenor, emailed Robert afterwards to say:

"Thanks for such a wonderful talk this afternoon. It was excellent and truly inspirational. I came away with so many ideas I want to develop.

"In producing this presentation it really came home to me how much all of you, as Guild members, have done over the last year and are still doing. Many thanks indeed."
