Engaging with Generous Giving

by Michael Ford last modified 04 Sep, 2021 12:04 AM

The countdown to our Diocesan Generous Giving Campaign has begun and with just nine days to go before the launch, Bishop Karen is encouraging as many parishes as possible to join in.

As a Diocese, we are committed to supporting each other and our churches as they inspire those they serve. So there is an open invitation to our parishes to take part in the Campaign which runs from 12th September to 3rd October.

Bishop Karen said:

“We worship a generous God who has blessed us with abundance. Giving and generosity should therefore be part of living out our faith as disciples of Jesus. And we know that Giving and Generosity can be transformative to the mission of our Church, and this includes digital giving which is key to the long-term sustainability of our churches and their ministry.

“I know for some, this will not be the time to join the campaign, but we welcome all those who can join in to use the materials at this time as God challenges each of us as Christians."

Beginning with a week of prayer, each of the four weeks of the campaign will be themed, looking at Thanksgiving, God’s Generosity and finally Our Response.

Video sermons from our bishops, liturgy and prayers will be among the resources available to use during the four weeks, and there will be a special free booklet to accompany the campaign, packed with a host of practical ideas to help to engage you at a personal level with the campaign.
