Eco Champions Meet
Last week, almost 50 Eco Champions from across our Diocese met on Zoom to hear from Bishop Nicholas and the Diocesan Environment Group about eco issues at national and Diocesan level, and what they can personally do to further our eco-progress as a Diocese.
Our Eco Champions are people keen to be part of our Diocesan aspiration, like the whole of the Church of England, to become carbon 'net zero' by 2030, and who have signed up to be a recipient of periodic resources and information on eco issues that can help us towards this goal.
David Morgan, Chair of the Diocesan Environment Group said:
"Earlier this year General Synod set the objective of the Anglican Church achieving ‘Net Zero Carbon’ by 2030. This very challenging target sets the backdrop for action at all levels in the diocese including initially measuring our current carbon footprint.
"We watched a powerful video on why we should take action for the sake of ‘our grandchildren’ and heard about how we can make our voice heard in our community and country on eco issues."
