Easter news from South Sudan

by Michael Ford last modified 20 Apr, 2022 01:04 PM

It was good to hear from brothers and sisters in South Sudan through Holy Week.

A special thank you the Revd Emmanuel Ramadan, former Director of Education for Nzara Diocese and currently Health Coordinator for Western Equatoria Internal Province, with whom the Medical and Education Links are often in touch regarding news.

Emmanuel writes of their celebrations for Palm Sunday as a day of humility and with his thanks “for your kindness and great love and support to us here in South Sudan and Nzara Diocese. It is our prayer that God continues to protect and bless you all in this Easter season.” Our prayers here in Salisbury Diocese continue for the Revd Emmanuel and for all in Nzara, South Sudan.

It has also been good to hear news from Ezo Diocese through the Sherborne-Ezo Deanery Link and to see Bishop Isaac Ephraim Bangisa’s photos of Palm Sunday at St Paul’s Cathedral, Ezo. Professor Andrew Tomkins and the Sherborne-Ezo Deanery Link Team are looking forward to welcoming Bishop Isaac and his wife Nora, to the Sherborne Deanery in August, with a full programme including, Evensong at Sherborne Abbey, a Cream Tea in Trent, and visits to the Dorset coast, Hilfield, with many opportunities for conversation, prayer and celebration. We look forward to hearing further news of ECSS Masumbu Primary and Nursery School following the recent Appeal which focused on accessing resources in support of the school.

With prayers from Sudans Link Partnership Team.
