Coronavirus Latest: Wiltshire Update

Following the latest government advice on social distancing, Wiltshire County Council are taking the sensible precaution to protect the public by reducing some non-essential council services.

Their hubs are currently open as usual, though some services may be affected: click here to find out more.

Schools remain open for key workers and most vulnerable children. Guidance on what is considered key working can be found here.

The council is also appealing to accommodation providers, particularly in the south of the county, to supply rooms in order for homeless people to be in a suitable position to self isolate. If you can help, get in touch.

Recently-qualified police officers are to join community policing teams to help maintain a visible presence across Wiltshire. The 37 officers will be deployed alongside tutors for the next 12 weeks until they can work in an independent capacity.

The Underwood Trust has donated £30,000 to help the the Wiltshire Community Foundation's Coronavirus Response Fund. The fund aims to help voluntary groups across the county deal with the effects of the pandemic. You can donate here.
