Coronavirus doesn't stop vandalism

by Michael Ford last modified 27 Mar, 2020 02:54 PM

A Dorset church has been vandalised just hours after the Prime Minister announced that the country was going into lockdown.

Holy Rood Shillingstone had a intricate stained glass window broken.

The Revd Lydia Cook, Rector of the Okeford Benefice took to social media to explain what happened:

"Holy Rood Church was vandalised as 2 rocks were thrown through the vestry window with such force, glass travelled several metres into the church."

And she issued this plea:

"I know these are stressful and difficult times, but please do not take it out on your church. If anyone has information about the attack, please contact me."
