Come with Marcus
The Story Keepers, a series of animated Christian videos is launching a new video based on the gospel of St Mark, called 'Come with Marcus' - an ideal resource as our discipleship and evangelism finds itself moving into the home.
The gospel booklet and the videos will also now be linked by a phone app: simply point your phone's camera at the pictures embedded within the gospel text, and the matching Story Keepers video extract will be loaded for you, re-telling the story.
The Story Keepers' Ross Coad explains:
"Do you have a Church school? Do these young school families attend your services?
"Story Keepers' ‘Come with Marcus’ has a proven track record of bringing 12 families to church follow up events for every 30 gospels distributed.
"St Columba in Corby, Northants gave 120 children a copy on Ascension Day and had 55 families come to a follow up Story Keepers party in November. So we have written a handbook with 13 parties to fit with the 13 half hour episodes of the Story Keepers which were originally broadcast on ITV."
Come with Marcus costs £1.50 per copy and allow children to scan the pictures and play the gospel passages on a smartphone.
Ross added:
"Simply point your phone's camera at the pictures embedded within the gospel text, and the matching Story Keepers video extract will be loaded for you, re-telling the story.
"And if you are a UPA parish, Story Keepers can help with funding."
