Churches of the Jurassic Coast

by Michael Ford last modified 09 May, 2019 10:49 AM

Leaflets showing visitors Jurassic Coast Churches they can visit are being delivered to churches and tourist offices along the coast in time for the holiday season.

The leaflet was developed by Jill Coates, who is an LPA in Dorset and Canon Jean Coates, who was Rural Officer for Dorset between 1999-2017, and contains just a selection of the many churches that populate the Jurassic coastline.

Jean said:

"The leaflets have been distributed to the churches which are featured in it with the explanation that these are only a selection of the many beautiful churches to visit on the Jurassic Coast.

"It was always a risk that some would feel left out, but there had to be a limit on how many could be included in order to provide a cost effective leaflet that people would pick up and use.

The leaflet had a small print run of just 5,000 copies, but Jean says you can get hold of a copy if you want:

"During the next few weeks we shall be getting it out to Tourist Offices in the County; there is already a small stock at the Sherborne Area Office and the rest are with me."
