Christingle Season has Begun
Over the last 53 years, Christingle celebrations across the country have raised millions of pounds to support our life-changing work with children and young people. In fact, churches across the Diocese have raised an incredible £100,730.60 through Christingle over the last 5 years alone!
Jess Meale, Relationships Manager for the South-West said:
"Our first Christingle service took place at Lincoln Cathedral in 1968, but Christingles themselves go back much further to the Moravian church in Germany. Christingles are usually held from Advent to Candlemas, with Christmas Eve being a particularly popular time for services. But you can host one whenever you like.
We offer a wide rage of resources through our shop, including ribbon, candles, leaflets, service ideas and video content. These can be viewed and ordered here. Due to the pandemic last year, resources for Muddy Christingle grew. Muddy Christingle is an outdoor service, consisting of a trail using QR codes that you scan with a mobile phone. We even have Christingle resources for schools, online and Dementia friendly services.
If you’re hosting a Christingle and haven’t yet registered it on our website, please do so here. Once your page is approved, we’ll send you an email with your unique event page URL that you can share with your Christingle guests to collect donations easily and safely.
