Cherishing friendships and communities
Our Rural Field Officers have feeding in ideas to clergy and lay teams in parishes across the Diocese over the summer.
The Revd Rhona Floate, Rural Field Officer for Wiltshire, has been supporting work in the likes of Aldbourne (see here) and the Upper Kennet Benefice.
Upper Kennet's Angharad Hughes says:
"Little Angels Toddler Group unfortunately couldn’t meet in person over lockdown, so instead we created Facebook videos, learning packs and exciting trails for the little ones and even a socially distanced Pizza and Prosecco evening for the 'Big Angels'.
"It is so important to keep a sense of community going and throughout lockdown even where the children couldn’t meet in person, a strong sense of kinship and support developed through the parents in the form of WhatsApps, walks and socially distanced gatherings.
"Lockdown taught us to appreciate what we do have and to cherish the friendships and communities available to us."
