Celebrating despite coronavirus
The Rural Hope Team with support from the Ministry and Mission Team are creating a series of webinars offering resources and ideas for celebrating some of our key times and seasons under the present restrictions.

With major and popular festivals like Remembrance, All Souls, Advent, Christmas and Epiphany all being covered, clergy and lay leaders are being invited to join the online sessions that will share ideas on the possibilities of this challenging time.
This coming Wednesday (9th September) at 2.00pm, the Team will launch the first in the series, celebrating Harvest.
The Revd Richard Kirlew, Rural Officer [Chaplain] for Dorset and Canon Richard Hancock, Rural Field Officer for Dorset, will join clergy and lay leaders to look at how 2 key rural festivals - Harvest and Plough Sunday - can be celebrated in the current climate.
The Richards will explore how these 2 events, marking the end and the beginning of the agricultural year, could offer us an opportunity to do something different.
They will bring their wealth of rural experience and mission to share how these traditional festivals can take place outside of the church environment. They will also share expertise from the Diocesan Board of Education on how to link in with schools as well as giving you an opportunity to share your own ideas and plans.

- Promoting Food Banks [Urban & Rural]
- Schools Links and Resources [in discussion with Lizzie Whitbread, Adviser for work with young people]
- Supporting and working with Farmers and Farming Communities
- Urban Focus – Harvest and Plough Sunday in an urban setting
- Outline Liturgies that can be used for both Harvest & Plough Sunday
- Outline Sermon with rural and farming info
- NFU link and support
- Ideas from around the Diocese
- Simple Risk Assessment form for holding service in a Barn, Farmland or other venue
- Guidance on refreshments at events
- Advice on live broadcasting or recording your Harvest/ Plough Sunday service
