Carol Service gets the Blue Light

by Michael Ford last modified 10 Dec, 2019 05:22 PM

First started 10 years ago, the annual Blue Light Carol Service in Bridport goes from strength to strength.

Designed especially for members of all the Emergency Services, it is an opportunity for them to gather together and hear the Good News of the birth of Christ re-told, accompanied by some strong singing of carols. The service is also followed by seasonal refreshments.

Organiser, Bridport Police Chaplain Philip Ringer said:

"We have always used this an opportunity to welcome those who will be working or on call over Christmas when the rest of us are enjoying our lunch. Over the years we have had special visits from 'Blood Bikes' and a police dog and its handler.

"This year we have another surprise in store, but you will have to come along on 19th December to see what it is."

As in previous years, the collection at this service is sent to the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.
