Bishop tweets for Christian Aid Week

by Michael Ford last modified 14 May, 2021 07:56 PM

Our Bishop Nicholas has commended those involved in supporting Christian Aid Week, traditionally the largest door-to-door charity collection week in the UK, and spoken out against climate change, a major theme of this year's campaign.

Referring to the G7 climate summit in June, and November's UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) - both due to be held in the UK - the Bishop tweeted a three-message thread:

"Thanks to all in Diocese of Salisbury who are supporting #caweek this year. We stand together with communities in Kenya: together we can stop this climate crisis.

"With @COP26 and the @G7 fast approaching, this year is critical in the fight against climate change. Those who contributed the least are experiencing the worst effects. This #caweek, I stand with those most affected.

"The climate crisis and coronavirus have created a double threat, endangering lives and livelihoods. This #caweek, I am pleased to be supporting @christian_aid and their work with the most marginalised communities across Kenya.
