Bishop Rides 100 Miles for Charity
The intrepid Bishop of Ramsbury, Dr Edward Condry, plans to take part in the 100-mile Prudential London-Surrey bike ride at the end of July, on the 2012 Olympic road race course.
He says, “Our beautiful granddaughter Mia has been much helped by the charity MACS, as she was born with no eyes.
“MACS is the UK’s national charity for children born without eyes or with underdeveloped eyes. They support families of children born with small eyes (a condition known as Microphthalmia), no eyes (Anophthalmia) and cleft of the eye (Coloboma). Their services are accessed by around 500 families around the UK and further afield.
“They wrote and asked if I would take part. I did not need much persuading! Not only is it a great cycling challenge, more importantly it is a great charitable cause.
“If you can sponsor me, that would be marvellous – and do visit the MACS website if you are interested in finding out more.”
