Bishop meets PM in Salisbury

by Michael Ford last modified 05 Mar, 2019 05:08 PM

Bishop Nicholas met Prime Minister Theresa May when she paid a whistle-stop visit to Salisbury this week.

The Prime Minister visited the Cathedral and businesses in the city as well as the Guildhall where she met people directly affected by the poisoning attacks last year.

Bishop Nicholas said:
"The Prime Minister met most of those most directly affected by events in Salisbury. She understood the impact on people’s lives and the need not just for recovery but to re-envision Salisbury as a city. As she has one or two other items on her agenda it was good of her to make Salisbury a priority at the start of this week."

As she walked around the city centre, the Prime Minister also stopped to chat to passers by.

She said:
"This city has shown such spirit and resolve in the last 12 months.

"It is incredibly heartening to see the hard work and determination of the people here to ensure this city has a positive and prosperous future, which it deserves.

"This a city that is vibrant, it’s dynamic and it is a wonderful place to come and visit."
