Bishop Karen joins St Nicholas Corfe Mullen for 25th Anniversary
St Nicholas Church, Corfe Mullen celebrated its 25th anniversary of the building’s opening this month.
Bishop Karen attended a service of celebration in which we recalled how the vision for a new church building grew into a reality through the generosity of so many giving time, talents and money.
People bought symbolic bricks as part of the fundraising and one of these original bricks, with the prayer and Bible verse still attached, was brought back. Looking ahead, we reaffirmed our commitment to the original, overarching vision to be a church for its local community and Bishop Karen encouraged us to continue to celebrate, to give thanks and to laugh together.
A project to update and refurbish the church is well underway and Bishop Karen cut a ribbon to open the new bi-folding doors leading onto a new patio in the church garden. We hope the new area will be a pleasant space for churches and others to use for awaydays and other events and activities.
