Being social at the Village Pump
The informal 'Village Pump' monthly meeting continues to go from strength to strength, as those involved in rural life at grass roots gather for discussion and encouragement.
Billed as "an opportunity for rural clergy and laity to meet and share ideas and concerns about rural life, the church and its outreach", the gathering is regularly hosted on Zoom by the Rural Field Officer for Dorset, Canon Richard Hancock.
Richard says:
"The Village Pump will be meeting again in October. This informal monthly meeting is an opportunity for rural clergy and laity to meet to share ideas and concerns about rural life, the church and its outreach, hosted by the Rural Field Officers for Dorset and Sherborne.
"Appearing in Grapevine has really help broaden our audience.
"This month we are looking at how we can use Social Media and Digital Communication Effectively, to promote the life and work of our churches and rural communities. We will be joined by the Revd Carole Peters-King, our Diocesan Director of Communications."
Each rural gathering takes place on the first Saturday of every month - the next is on Saturday 2nd October.
Richard adds:
"If you can’t stay for the whole time, just join us when and for however long you can!"
The session runs from 9.00am to 10.30am.
To join in, please email Richard via RFODorset@salisbury.anglican.org and he will send you the Zoom link.
