An "Impressionist" Wedding

by Michael Ford last modified 12 Sep, 2020 09:48 PM

Our ministry teams are busy catching up with weddings that were cancelled during lockdown, and even with just 30 people attending, they have proved memorable events.

Dr Jessica Jarvis was undaunted by mist and murk in her determination to walk to St Aldhelm’s Chapel to marry Dr Frazer Warricker on a misty Saturday in August.

The Revd James Mercer says:

"Jessica, her sister and mother emerged from this mist as if stepping out from an impressionist painting. The Chapel, high up on St Aldhelm’s Head on the Isle of Purbeck, was lit with candles.

"After the service, the small wedding party enjoyed canapés and champagne on the grass outside the Chapel. Dr Jarvis is an expert in public health policy, so Covid-19 protocols were carefully observed."
