An empty tomb and a garden of Hope
This Easter, creativity has been sparked - and so have collaborations between schools and parish churches.
So what do you get when you mix the skills of Great Wishford villagers Jamie and Laurence with a pallet, some wire netting and astroturf?

"An Easter tomb, of course!
"On the Wednesday before Easter, the tomb was placed in the churchyard and the children from Great Wishford Primary School came across to embellish it with the Easter-themed items they had made.
"The very youngest, Owl Class, arrived first with a display of chicks and decorated palm crosses.
"As they were returning to school, Hedgehog Class turned up with a fine assortment of bunnies made from socks and rice grains - such a novel way to repurpose odd socks!
"And last but not least came Fox Class bearing crosses they had made with twigs or sticks and coloured wool. They also brought prayers they had written about Easter, which gave some wonderful insights into what Easter signified for them.
"Some of the prayers were read out, clearly and confidently - the children did the school proud.
"On Easter morning, at the first service to be held in church for months, the door to the tomb was rolled away, revealing folded cloths, representing the burial cloths of the risen Christ.
"And the cross at the gate to the churchyard, previously unadorned, received a beautiful Easter makeover from the villagers of Wishford - a joyous day indeed!"
