Ability Sunday

by Michael Ford last modified 03 Jul, 2019 06:11 PM

The Livability Charity is inviting churches in our Diocese to join the whole Church in making Sunday 8th September 2019 'Ability Sunday', and help to make it a very special day in their community.

Ability Sunday is a day of inclusion and participation, with special consideration for the needs of disabled people.

This year’s Ability Sunday sees us celebrate everyone’s unique gifts, reflecting on Psalm 139, especially the gifts of disabled people because we believe churches and communities are richer when everyone is taking part.

Livability will equip your church with all the resources needed to run Ability Sunday from sermon notes, the psalm, prayers, reflections and Makaton content.

And the charity says that if Sunday the 8th of September doesn't work for your church then they are happy that the resources are used at another time.

To sign up for your pack, visit www.abilitysunday.org.uk. We hope you’ll join us in building a church where everyone can take part!
