A State of Climate Emergency

by Michael Ford last modified 15 Jan, 2021 07:01 PM

Dorset Council has declared a Climate and Ecological Emergency and called for feedback from the public as soon as possible.

Inviting support to deliver this agenda, Dorset Council has published a detailed Climate Emergency Strategy and Action Plan, which can be accessed online here.

Dorset Council invites as many Dorset residents as possible to respond to the Climate Emergency Strategy and Action Plan.

For those who find this document too complicated, Planet Purbeck has produced a comprehensive user guide to help with completing the response, available here.

The group, which includes the Benefice of St Aldhelm's James Mercer, quotes Sir David Attenborough as saying:

“Human beings are the greatest problem-solvers our planet has ever known. We have just yet to apply ourselves to this problem with the scale and urgency it requires.”

There is also a Change.org petition that can be completed, here.

For those with very little time, there is a shorter, snappier survey here.

Wednesday 20th January is the deadline for submitting responses.
