A month of confirmations

by Michael Ford last modified 01 Jun, 2022 06:38 PM

Over 100 have been confirmed in Salisbury Diocese in May.

A few weeks ago we brought you the news that 66 young people and adults were confirmed in Salisbury Cathedral. This number has been added to with more confirmations taking place, including in Canford School, Bryanston School, and Clayesmore School.

Pete Atkinson, Minor Canon for Young People, Salisbury Cathedral said:

“I supported 17 young people to be confirmed in the recent confirmation service led by Bishops Karen and Andrew. It was a fantastic occasion that felt like a real community celebration. The young people were very moved by the whole experience and the presence of the Holy Spirt was evident throughout the service. It was a special time that none of the candidates will ever forget.”

Toby, Yr7, Salisbury Cathedral School said:

“My confirmation felt like a really big moment in my life. It reminded me that I am part of the whole Church. I enjoyed carrying the candle down the aisle at the end of the service. Thank you everyone for making this happen.”
