A light in the darkness
Our story last in last week's Grapevine about Beaminster Church turning blue for the NHS prompted this message from the Revd Penny Draper, from St George's Church, Oakdale:
"On the evening England went into shutdown, St George's Tower Cross was lit up, as it often is, in someone's memory, for an anniversary or special birthday.
"The next day, it was decided that the Tower should remain lit throughout the Covid-19 crisis to offer a beacon of hope into the community of Oakdale.
"The light was turned off only for Good Friday and has shone out every night since then.
"Many who live in the area around the church have commented on how nice it has been to see the cross lit up every evening."
If you are lighting up your church, do let us know how, where, and of any response.
