A Close Shave
Raising money for the Sudans Emergency Appeal and Dorset Historic Churches Trust has been a hair-raising experience for one of our Archdeacons.
Archdeacon of Dorset Antony MacRow-Wood decided to make his first post-lockdown haircut a chance to raise money for 2 good causes.
And to make sure people were willing to give, he offered to have all his locks shaved off.
Archdeacon Antony said:
"People in South Sudan and Sudan have been hard hit by Covid-19 and lack the medical facilities we take for granted. The Diocesan Link helps fund, medical equipment, training and medicines.
"Churches in Dorset have not been able to raise funds for repairs this year but the buildings still require maintenance. Dorset Historic Churches Trust helps churches with the cost of repairs.
"It's nearly 4 months since I had a haircut and I couldn't stand it any longer, so last Saturday before golf at Broadstone Golf Club I had my head shaved in aid of the good causes above."

The haircut was done in stages, with Archdeacon Antony sporting a coloured mohican for a round of golf before going for the full head shave.
