‘Knit for a Change’ this Christmas!

by Michael Ford last modified 27 Nov, 2019 04:54 PM

A creative way to support homeless and vulnerable people this Christmas has been launched by Salisbury-based Christian charity Alabaré with their ‘Knitting for a Change’ knitting kits.

The kits contain everything you need to create your own woolly hat from scratch including 3 balls of wool, needles and instructions on how to download your knitting pattern. The proceeds from each sale will go towards supporting Alabaré’s work with the homeless and vulnerable, making the kit the perfect gift for a creative or charity minded loved one this Christmas.

Rachel Houston, Alabaré’s Supporter Care Officer said:

“The Knitting for a Change kits are ideal ethical gifts this Christmas. Not only will those purchasing be receiving a fantastic product but they will also be purchasing in the knowledge they will be making a genuine difference to the lives of the most vulnerable in our society this Christmas.”

The kits are priced at £12 each with 2 different colour selections available.

Proceeds raised from the sale of each kit will support Alabaré’s work in helping homeless people off the streets this winter and in to supported accommodation. Alabaré last year supported a total of 1,950 homeless and vulnerable people, including their drop-in centre based in Salisbury city centre.

The kits are available to buy from Alabaré’s charity shops as well as online.
