1 Life, 1 Voice: Tackling modern slavery
There are only 5 weeks to go before the #1Life1Voice Stop Modern Slavery project gets under way in this Diocese, and details of guest speakers are being released.
School Improvement Adviser Debbie Heritage says:
“We have some amazing national and regional guest speakers who will be sharing their own experience, understanding and impact of modern slavery on our most vulnerable young people and adults.
“All sessions are virtual and free to attend. Please just click on the link at the allocated time to attend.

Shayne Tyler
Sunday 17th October, 5.30pm – 6.30pm
Shayne says:
“The session will raise awareness of the prevalence of exploitation, it will further raise awareness of the increasing risks in society and explain how the exploitation model happens in practice. I will personally share my stories and what is happening in the labour market.
“We will then look at what we can see and how we can deal with the challenges and open eyes to debunk some of the myths. I will give practical and effective tips of what people can DO!
“The main aim by the end of the session is to enable people to realise what they can see and what they can do. There will be time to support, answer or redirect any questions the delegates may have.”

Detective Chief Inspector Phil Walker
Monday 18th October 2pm – 4pm
Debbie says:
“Phil will be talking about the signs and indicators of Slavery and Trafficking, how to spot them and how we can work together to support victims and tackle perpetrators. Phil will also provide an oversight of the current threat of Slavery and Trafficking in Wiltshire and how Wiltshire Police are set up to tackle this.”
