Student wins UK songwriter competition
A student at Holland Park has won the prestigious UK songwriter competition. The Song Academy Young Song Writer Competition, who published the award list, placed Isabella Weinstein 1st in the 13-18 category of songwriters. She came up against stiff competition from songwriters from across the United Kingdom, and from a total of nearly 500 entries. The winning song is available to listen to on YouTube here.
Isabella said, "I never thought that I would be chosen as a finalist, winning was only a dream. It has been an amazing confidence boost. To know that judges, as fine as those on the panel, feel that my music is worthy of such a prestigious award is mind blowing!”
She is due to perform in Westfied Square, Westfiled on Sunday 10th June between 2 and 5pm alongside other finalists.
The press statement released by the Song Academy is available here.
