We Welcome Original 1958 Alumni

Front Cover of the First Edition of Alpha

On Thursday 27th September, the school welcomed some four alumni to the school, all of whom were founding students of the school all the way back when it opened in 1958. Met by current members of the student leadership team, Clem, Milla and Sophie, the four former students toured the school, visiting lessons and listening to the school choir perform in a specially curated performance in honour of the school's birthday. They reminisced about members of staff and students and even mingled with our vice chair of governors, Elizabeth Rutherford (who has also lived in the area) to share narratives about how the school has changed over time.

Quincey Connell, former head boy of the school in 1965, presented to the students a series of treasures from the school's history. Copies, hitherto unseen by current members of the school, of the first Alpha Magazines; scarfs and badges of the school's head-boy and a magazine published for the 10th anniversary of the school in 1968 were all gifted to the school in honour of this significant moment. The first edition of Alpha is available to view on the website here and we look forward to digitising more editions for the future. Mark of Ealing, of the same generation, presented to the school limited-edition fox lapel badges that he commissioned himself.
