Holland Park Remembers
Next week marks the first anniversary of the Grenfell tragedy. We are aware that this is likely to be a difficult time for many members of our community and we are planning a respectful and sensitive response to mark the anniversary. On Wednesday 13th June 2018 green ribbons will be handed out to all students and staff upon entry to school and will be worn by everyone associated with the School on Wednesday 13th June, Thursday 14th June and Friday 15th June 2018. This is in support of the ‘Green for Grenfell’ initiative. On Thursday 14th June students will pay their respects to those who lost their lives and everyone affected by being ‘quiet and reflective’ for 15 minutes during Guidance Time and by observing the 72 seconds' silence at midday, to remember the 72 lives lost as a result of the tragic events. During Guidance Time, students will be able to watch a short video focused on how communities came together to support those affected in the aftermath of the Grenfell Fire. Throughout the week the school will be offering a space for students to go if they are upset or wish to undertake a period of quiet reflection and members of staff will be available to offer support.
