Funky site for Global Art Supplies
Global Art Supplies is a wholesale supplier of artists' materials to retailers throughout the UK. The design brief for the site was to make thinks look a little bit "street" and a little bit "guerilla" without losing the corporate feel of a proper company web site. Quite a tricky feat to pull off, you might think, but not for Beetlebrow.
With the designs approved, we set about building the site which featured three bespoke pieces of functionality. Firstly, Global Art Supplies wanted to be able to display the shops they supply on a map of the UK, allowing visitors to the site to find their nearest art shop. In addition, users can filter the map to display only those shops which stock certain brands, so you can find the nearest stockist of Cretacolor products if you need to.
There's also a bespoke advertising system, so that retailers can put their adverts alongside particular brands, both on the special brand information pages, and on the brand stockist map page.
Finally, Global Art Supplies wanted to use the power of the web to supply their customers with promotional images from the various brands that they supply. Beetlebrow built a secure section of the site where hundreds of images are stored and can be downloaded at various resolutions, from tiny icon-sized versions, to full hi-res images.
