All new Holland Park School
New school building and a new website
The new school building for Holland Park is the culmination of many years hard work to lift the school out of the doldrums and set it among the best schools in the country. To recognise this fact, Beetlebrow were asked to radically overhaul the web site, adding a new design and functionality to produce the best school web site around.
The design is minimal but beautiful, and the user interface a joy to work with. The content on each individual page has been crafted to look as good as possible and is styled to display the information with maximum clarity.
The gallery has been completely rebuilt in a style entirely in keeping with the rest of the site, and at the same time become easier to use. The navigation is in a new style, using sliding and fading transitions to make using it more satisfying.
From a technical standpoint, the site uses Plone 4 for its content management system, making it fast and easy to use, and the user interface makes maximum use of JQuery and AJAX to put the right information in front of users with a minimum of fuss.
As Deputy Head David Chappell said recently, "The site is glorious – I have had some brilliant feedback."
