Five day boat fishing competition held in Weymouth

In three months time the WIBAC 2017 (Weymouth International Boat Angling Challenge) commences. There is still plenty of time to get involved in this fantastic competition, which is now in its 10th year.

From 2nd -6th October the WIBAC 2017 (Weymouth International Boat Angling Challenge) competition will take place in Weymouth over 5 days. Each day there will be cash prizes and an overall prize table, with the competition being split into the following categories.

  • A day’s wreck fishing
  • Ray/flatfish day
  • Lure day
  • One of each species
  • 10 of each species 

The entry fee for the competition is £435 per angler. The event will be fished to a points system and returned alive unless being kept for the table or bait.  The overall 5-day champion (5 days scores accumulated by boat percentage) prize will be 1st £2000, 2nd £1500, 3rd £1000, with a prize table.

Other prizes include:

  • For each daily event there will be cash prizes of £300 1st, £200 2nd & £100 3rd
  • Daily boat winners on each boat receive £100
  • Break a record and win £500. (Cod 17lb 6oz , Ray 32lb, Conger 72lb , Bass 15lb 6oz , Flatfish 12lb 3oz , Bream 5lb 2oz)
  • New Categories for Break a record  Wrasse 6lb 2oz and Pollack 14lb 12oz
  • Prize table with awards from 1st to 15th Overall
  • Drawn 4 man team Prizes & Trophies 1st 2nd 3rd
