Specimen Hunt steps up a gear
The Weymouth Charter Boat Specimen Hunt has stepped up a gear over the last month with some cracking entries to the competition! To be in the running make sure you sign up before your next trip!
Competition update ...
With some great weather over the last month and the Easter Bank Holiday weekend, all the charter boats have been busy with locals and visitors. There has been some good sized fish and new species entered into the competition, here are some of the best. Meerkat Charters has bagged some great specimens including a Blonde Ray of 28lb 8oz caught by Chris Reeks plus a Turbot of 15lb 15oz by Rob Burgin. Tom O’Gorman entered the competition onboard Supanova II with a 24lb 4oz Ling beating Antony White’s previous entry of 13lb 8oz on Fish on! Our first Whiting at 2lb was caught by Rob Field also on Supanova II. Lots of fish, some impressive current records but they can still be beat!
If you have not heard about our Charter Boat Specimen Hunt where have you been hiding! It is a brand new 2017 competition for local anglers or visitors. Fish from any of the participating Weymouth charter boats to be in with a chance of winning £3,000 for breaking a British record, £1,000 for a port record or an array of tackle prizes for categories including best fish of each nominated species, best overall area specimen and most unusual fish. At only £5 to enter you would be silly not too!
